Have you ever hurt somebody in your life? I did. Someone had played a messed up game with me and I
couldn’t help myself. I felt so abandoned and lost and decided to do something really stupid. Not because I’m a
bad person, but because I was hurting and needed someone to hear me and to care.
I was not proud of what I did and carried that burden with me for a year, until something beautiful happened
that truly changed my life. I was forgiven by the person I had hurt.
Not only did I feel the sweet relief of the weight coming off my shoulders, it also allowed me to forgive all
people that ever hurt me. I was able to let go of the past, of things I cannot change, to be patient with myself
and others and accept that mistakes are so very human.
This song is about redemption, about that golden moment of realizing that we are safe, because no matter
what, we still have forgiveness.
